Chemical Peel

SKIN COMPLEXION

OVERVIEW

A chemical peel is a clinical skin resurfacing treatment in which a carefully selected chemical solution is applied to the skin to exfoliate and remove damaged outer layers, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. At Newburyport Medical Aesthetics, we offer medical-grade peels customized to your skin type and concerns — from light refreshing peels to deeper resurfacing treatments targeting hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and scarring.

KEY BENEFITS

  • Reduces hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and melasma

  • Smooths fine lines and improves skin texture

  • Clears acne and reduces post-acne discoloration

  • Evens skin tone for a brighter, more radiant complexion

  • Stimulates cellular renewal and collagen production

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Clients looking to address uneven skin tone, sun damage, acne, superficial scarring, or dull complexion. Peel depth and formulation are customized based on your skin type, tone, and concern.

THE PROCESS

How it works…

Consultation

During your consultation we will select the appropriate peel strength (superficial, medium, or deep) based on your skin type, goals, and tolerance.

Preparation

Skin is cleansed and degreased to ensure even penetration of the chemical solution.

Application

The peel solution is carefully applied to the skin. Patients may feel a tingling or mild burning sensation. A neutralizing agent is applied after the appropriate timing.

Post-treatment

Mild redness, tightness, and peeling occur over 3–7 days depending on peel depth. Sun protection is essential during recovery.

Results

Skin appears smoother and more even-toned once peeling is complete. A series of light peels or a single medium peel can achieve significant improvements.
