Hormone Replacement Therapy for men
HORMONE HEALTH
OVERVIEW
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a medically supervised treatment for men whose testosterone levels have declined below healthy ranges — a condition known as hypogonadism or andropause. Low testosterone is more common than many realize and can significantly impact energy, mood, libido, body composition, cognitive function, and overall sense of vitality. At Newburyport Medical Aesthetics, our providers use comprehensive lab evaluation to confirm deficiency and design a personalized TRT protocol that restores balance safely and effectively, using injections, topical gels, or patches.
KEY BENEFITS
Restores energy levels, motivation, and mental clarity
Improves libido and sexual function
Supports lean muscle mass and reduces excess body fat
Stabilizes mood and reduces symptoms of depression and irritability
Strengthens bone density and overall physical resilience
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone such as persistent fatigue, reduced sex drive, difficulty building or maintaining muscle, increased body fat, mood changes, or brain fog — particularly those over 35. Lab-confirmed low testosterone is required before treatment begins.
THE PROCESS
How it works…
Consultation
A thorough review of your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and goals helps your provider determine whether TRT is appropriate and safe for you.
Lab Work
Comprehensive bloodwork is ordered including total and free testosterone, LH, FSH, estradiol, PSA, CBC, and metabolic panel to fully assess your hormonal and overall health status.
Treatment Plan
If deficiency is confirmed, your provider designs a personalized TRT protocol — most commonly weekly intramuscular or subcutaneous injections, though topical gels or patches may also be used.
Initiation & monitoring
Treatment begins and follow-up labs are drawn at 6–8 weeks to assess testosterone levels, estradiol (which can rise with TRT), hematocrit, and symptom response. Dosing is adjusted accordingly.
long-term management
TRT requires ongoing medical supervision. Regular lab monitoring every 3–6 months ensures safety, tracks effectiveness, and watches for any cardiovascular or prostate-related changes.
